A North Korean threat actor attempted to enter KnowBe4 by posing as an IT worker on the company's AI team but was identified before accessing the cybersecurity firm's corporate network.
CEO and president Stu Sjouwerman revealed that the individual, hired as a principal software engineer, was discovered to be a state-sponsored actor from North Korea aiming to breach the company's systems.
Sjouwerman emphasised that the imposter was thoroughly vetted and interviewed before being brought on board.
